Some people face criminal charges, others face a child-custody dispute, and most probably face the landlord-tenant dispute. Looking for the right lawyer can be time-consuming and stressful. However, New Yorkers now have a simple service that will connect them to the right lawyer.

The New York State Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service’s new product is available for use 24 hours a day and is completely confidential. The attorneys made available through this service have been properly vetted and approved by the New York State Bar Association. Individuals who use this service can now rest assure that they will be matched with a good-standing attorney. This new online service allows attorneys to offer their services to more people, while also lowering the cost of their services. The New York State Bar Association launched this new portal with help from Legal.io, which is a provider of technology for the legal industry.

The system for finding the right lawyer is simple. An individual fills out a form, stating their legal issue and where they are from. The form is analyzed by a panel and then matches the individual with a lawyer who practices within their community or nearby area. Referrals are always free, but after 30 minutes of consultation with an attorney, the individual is charged a $35 feel.
